The Setup Assistant Window
The Setup Assistant saves you time by automating some setup tasks. Setup Assistant can import information from other programs (such as Thinking Home v1.x, Indigo, and CP290 Director X), help you add a new controller, and discover the devices linked to an INSTEON controller.
Import hardware and schedules |
An easy way to get your hardware and schedule information from the software you’ve been using. Here you can select the file to import and your devices, events and responders will be brought into the new Thinking Home. |
Enable access to USB controllers |
Installs an extension needed so that aplications can access home automation controllers via USB. Here you can tell Thinking Home to install the extension and receive notification when the installation is complete. |
Add a controller |
Setup Assistant walks you through the steps of adding a new controller, prompting for the necessary information, such as communication standard, manufacturer, model, name, house code, and serial port used. |
Discover devices |
INSTEON controllers can help you set up your devices without manually typing the addresses. If the controller has been linked to devices, Setup Assistant can discover them, and let you select the ones to add to your Installed Hardware window. |
